The “International Seminar on New Indicators of Science, Technology and Innovation” aims at accomplishing two different goals: on one hand, promoting the exchange between technicians responsible for building ONCYT indicators in the region; on the other, informing the academic community about the last methodological developments in the field.

The first part of the seminar will be dedicated to the “Second Workshop on Harmonization of Indicators of Science and Technology”, which will be exclusive for ONCYT technicians from Ibero-America and the Caribbean . During this workshop, the attendants will have the opportunity to discuss specific questions related to their work within the limits of official organizations. This debate will act as a sequel to the session that took place in San Pablo , Brazil , in May 2007, during the “VII Ibero-American Congress on Indicators of Science and Technology”.

The second part of the seminar will be opened to the general public and walk through the last debates on the different aspects of developing indicators of science, technology and innovation.
